Fellowship Programme

VLSI Design Conference has a long tradition of a large fellowship programme. These fellowships support interested faculty and students who are not in a position to arrange for their own funds to attend the conference. The fellowships range from registration fee waiver to full travel support including registration fee. The number of fellowships would depend upon the sponsorship fee that we are likely to raise for these fellowships but are expected to be around 200.

Continuing that tradition, this year also the Organizing Committee has decided to award fellowships with one significant difference. Apart from the fellowships being awarded directly by the fellowship committee, some fellowships would also be awarded through contests in various select colleges. This is being done to promote awareness of the field as well as the conference among a larger cross-section of the student community. In case you are a faculty member in a college and would like to organize such a contest, please feel free to contact us at the earliest. The nature of the contest is currently flexible and faculty can come up with innovative ideas and can plan and finalize in due course. Innovation keeping in view the objective of the conference is welcome.

The application form for the fellowship is put on the web. Any faculty member or student (postgraduate as well as undergraduate) who is interested in attending the conference but does not have access to travel funds can apply. Students would have to justify relevance of attending the tutorials/conference to their academic programme. Students having a paper, poster or participating in the design contest would be given preference over others. Among the remaining, priority will be for PhD students followed by M.Tech./MS students.

Any faculty member interested in organizing a contest for their students can fill the contest form and send it across to both the fellowship chairs.
