Bangalore - The city of gardens and lakes and hot roasted groundnuts
Once a sleepy cantonment town where pensioners strolled along quiet, tree-lined avenues - a legacy of British colonial rule - today's Bangalore has a very distinctive high-tech feel to it.

Bangalore's meteoric rise to a city of nearly 6 million people of diverse cultures is based on world-class technological excellence. Known as India's Silicon Valley, Bangalore is home to many computer industries, international corporations, huge Indian conglomerates and vast ultramodern technology parks.
The city's altitude (1000m) makes it a pleasant place to live in throughout the year and it's lakes and gardens also attract people to what is India's fifth largest city. Besides technology, Bangalore is home to a host of large and small-scale industries and is a manufacturing and export center of worldwide repute. Bangalore's economy is moving up the value ladder. It's business profile is definitely growing.
World-class facilities, and jaw-dropping expenses!
For the young at heart, Bangalore offers a mix of pubs, discos, and branded goods stores stocked with world-class goodies! European style pizza and pasta bistros are the rage, along with restaurants that specialize in Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Greek, Japanese and Italian cuisine. Bangaloreans love eating out; Indian food from every region is also available including the ever-popular hot and spicy Andhra cuisine.
Bangalore has some of the best educational facilities with schools offering International baccalaureate courses and world-class colleges and specialized institutes for higher learning. It is home to the prestigious Indian Institute of Science and the Indian Institute of Management. There's also plenty to choose from the world of dance, music and theater.

Health care here is comparable to the best in the world. High-tech hospitals are staffed with super specialists who have done stints at prestigious top hospitals in the West. Bangalore is also a major center for what the world is now turning eastwards to - Ayurveda - the ancient Indian system of medicine- which, with its mind and body rejuvenating properties, is proving to be a big draw.

Gardens, parks, lakes and libraries - this city has them all. But it's not only things material that Bangalore provides. There's food for the soul here. Yoga, meditation and The Art of Living are all vibrant and alive.

Recreation-wise, take your pick of coracle fishing, jungles with real wildlife, sun-kissed beaches and misty mountain ranges. Or cruise along the impossibly green and tranquil backwaters of Kerala - all of which are just within a few hours' reach. At costs that you will pinch yourself to believe!!

Bangalore is cool. Bangalore is peaceful. Stroll along its colorful streets, snack on a spicy 'chaat' or munch hot roasted groundnuts sold in cones of rolled up yesterday's newspaper. Savor the aroma of that heavenly brew of coffee, which probably grew on the hillsides you went picnicking!

You'll be happy you came home.
