India is an emerging market that is being
noticed and taken seriously the world over.
The >1B population is very young (35% under
the age of 15) with an ever-expanding middle
class. Sustained 8% GDP growth, rapid
urbanization, increasing dispensable income,
changing lifestyles, opening economic policy,
democratic society are fuelling ‘explosive’
consumerism in India resulting in persistent
demand for latest goods and services.
India as a market encourages/requires creative
product design or business models to meet its
needs. This uniqueness comes from its
demographics, its economics, and its inherent
diversity. Hence this transmogrification of
the India story: from "Made in India" of
yester years - "Made for India" today - "Made
by India" tomorrow.
In this context we have created a platform at
the International Conference on VLSI design -
VLSI2009, titled "Made For India". This is a
platform to help identify and promote products
that are centered around semiconductors,
electronics and embedded SW, designed for the
Indian market. We invite proposals for a 30
minute speaking opportunity to present your
product that is made for India. Presentations
must start with the end market and showcase
use of technology, business models/services
that were established to meet its needs.
VLSI2009 is now in its 22nd year and is
India’s premier conference on semi-conductors
and embedded software. This attracts almost
1000 students, academicians and industry
experts from across the country and to some
extent the whole globe. This year with the
conference being in New Delhi, it will be
closest to the regulators, decision makers and
the media
Please send in your proposals and questions to
Rajiv Kapur. Proposals need to be accompanied
with a (1) Title and (2) An abstract (not
exceeding 200 words) describing the market and
its unique traits, solutions with
technologies/business models implemented, its
status (3) Name and title of the presenter(s).
Slots will be filled at the discretion of the
organizing committee, with a goal to maximize
diversity of verticals from the list of
proposals received that meet the desired
objectives. Please hurry, as we only have a
few slots to showcase the good work being done
all around.
Come participate in creating New India, For
India, By India, In India!!
