C V S Sastry
Sri CVS Sastry was born on 25th July 1959 at Tanuku in Andhra Pradesh. He obtained M.Sc (Tech) Degree in Applied Electronics from College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1981.
He joined Defence Electronics Research laboratory, DRDO as Scientist B in 1983 and rose to become Head of Signal Processing & Embedded Systems Directorate. He had been working on designing and developing Embedded Processor Systems for Surface, Subsurface and Airborne Radar EW systems for Indian Navy and Land-based EW systems for Indian Army. He was Chief Designer for Processor and Display systems for Integrated EW programmes SAMYUKTA & SANGRAHA taken up by DRDO for Indian Army and Indian Navy, Project Director for Electronic Warfare Operational Support System SANCHAY, Modern ESM System DISHA, NAVAL ESM System VARUNA.
He has assumed charge as Director ANURAG from 5th August 2010. He has become Scientist H on 02nd August 2012.
C V S Sastry has received the following awards.
- As a member of the team he had received DRDO’s Award for Performance Excellence in the year 2002 for design, development, production and induction of suite of Naval EW systems under SANGRAHA Programme.
- Technology Day Award for SAMYUKTA in 2004.
He is Fellow of IETE, member of IEEE and member of Association of Old Crows.
